Fighting Corruption

The American Anti-Corruption Institute (AACI) defines fighting corruption as a “ process effected by those charged with governance, employees, citizens, and other stakeholders to provide a reasonable assurance that those entrusted with power did not abuse it for a private gain(s)” It is holistic, multidisciplinary, encompasses all economic sectors, results-oriented, and continuous.

The United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC)

Mr. Masoud provided many examples relating the ten principles of fighting corruption with the UNCAC. While the UNCAC is the only anti-corruption legal international agreement, the ten principles of fighting corruption are the foundation to institutionalize fighting corruption, money laundering, and financing terrorism.
